Even if you’ve tried Pilates before, we recommend kicking off with our Reformer BASICS or Mat BASICS classes. These slower-paced sessions let you master the foundational movements, get comfortable with our studio and equipment, and meet our instructors, so you can feel confident and ready to take on more challenging classes.
Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first class so you have time to meet your instructor, get familiar with the studio, and be introduced to the equipment, whether you’re on the mat or reformer. Grip socks are required for Reformer classes, and we recommend bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated. Please ensure you arrive on time, as late arrivals may not be able to join. We want your first class to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible!
In our Mat and Reformer classes, our instructor will introduce themselves and may ask about any injuries or concerns before starting (please inform them of any injuries or if you’re pregnant).
BASICS classes typically begin with simple foundational movements, with options to progress or modify exercises as you go. This allows you to work at your own pace while building confidence and strength!
Your instructor will guide you throughout the class, demonstrate exercises, and offer support where needed. You’re always welcome to ask questions, and if at any point you feel uncomfortable, you can let your instructor know.
Our goal is to make all of our classes welcoming, supportive, and enjoyable to customers of all fitness levels.
Yoga is a flowing practice of poses and breath that strengthens the body, improves flexibility, and promotes balance and mindfulness. Pilates is a strength and stability-focused workout that targets the core, engages deep muscles, and uses precise movements to build control, posture, and overall body awareness, whether on the mat or reformer.
Mat Pilates is all about bodyweight exercises on the floor, with the assistance of props to enhance your practice. Reformer Pilates is done on a reformer machine, which adds springs and resistance for a full-body, strength-focused workout. Both are precise, controlled, and designed to improve your core, strength, posture, and overall body awareness.
Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing that moves with you, for instance leggings or shorts and a fitted top work perfectly. For Reformer classes, grip socks are required for safety and stability. For Mat classes, you can choose bare feet or grip socks. This ensures you can move confidently while your instructor guides you safely.
All you really need is yourself, but we do recommend bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated. You don’t need to bring extra equipment as our mats and reformers are provided. You can store shoes, keys, and phones in our pigeon holes, and we ask that phones are kept on silent to keep the class focused and uninterrupted.
Yes, for Reformer Pilates classes grip socks are mandatory for hygiene and safety purposes. In our Mat classes you can either go barefoot or wear grip socks. We have grip socks for sale in the studio if you forget!
